Taking the Ball into Their Own Hands: Women and the Road to Title IX Online Exhibit opens

Stearns History Museum is opening it’s first online photographic exhibit Taking the Ball into Their Own Hands: Women and the Road to Title IX.
The exhibit celebrates the enactment of Title IX into law on June 23, 1972, and features 25 Stearns County women athletes. Each profile has a quote or an interesting fact about their experiences. The research coincided with a grant project funded through Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Fund and administrated by the Minnesota Historical Society. The highlighted athletes were chosen for their athletic skills and a desire to build community through volunteering, mentoring, and public service.
