Connecting people through the power of history and culture

Civil War Roundtable

The Civil War Roundtable meets at 3:45 PM the 2nd Tuesday of each month. We meet right here at the Stearns History Museum, and no RSVP is required.

Civil War Roundtable

The Central Minnesota Civil War Roundtable was formed in St. Cloud in 2007 to foster discussion of the United States Civil War, also known as the “Second American Revolution.” The changes the war brought in America reverberate today. The group meets monthly during the school year.

Meetings generally feature a speaker with a question-and-answer session afterward. Speakers cover a wide range of topics, and listeners require no specific background knowledge to understand the presentations. Samples of previous meetings: Civil War photography, Christmas during the Civil War, The Civil War in the Great Lakes, The Men of the First Minnesota and Citizen Soldiers: One Family’s Legacy,” “Stories and Musing from Gettysburg.”

The Central Minnesota Civil War Roundtable meets at 3:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at the Museum.

Meetings are open to the public. Members pay $50 in dues each year to defray the cost of room rental and speaker mileage stipends. For more information, please contact Andrew Ditlevson at aditlevson@gmail.com.
